A DECADE OF CHANGES IN PALAEOLITHIC ROCK ART IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE PENINSULA. NEW FINDINGS OF AIRBRUSHED HANDS IN NEGATIVE
Abstract
Since the beginning of the 20th century, the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula has aroused great
interest, thanks to the research carried out by Eduardo Hernández-Pacheco, Juan Cabré, Henri Breuil
and M.C. Burkitt, and the publication by the latter of his well-known book "Rock painting...". Nor should
we forget Uwe Topper, Martí Más, Lothar Bergmann or Mónica Solís. Focusing on the last decade,
and in spite of the great discoveries that have been made in the Campo de Gibraltar area, it is worth
mentioning the appearance of graffiti attributed to a Palaeolithic chronology, of airbrushed hands in
negative, something unthinkable in the area, even more so as they are outdoor enclaves, when this
type of motif, with some exceptions, has been found in caves and normally located in deep areas
